We have been really lucky this week after so much rain to have had dry days to get the children out in the fresh air and running off some of their energy and excitement!
All the children have settled back in school really well and from what I have seen walking round everyone, including the teachers, are working very hard – well done boys and girls and teachers!
I have popped in and out of nursery, it has been so nice to see all our children playing so well together, they all seem to have grown so much over the holidays.
Reception have been enjoying the story of the Gingerbread Man, they have been really busy outside making the cottage from the story and acting out the scenes.
Year 1 had a visit from the “naughty bus” on Thursday. Sadly Mrs Latham forgot to lock him up in the cupboard and so overnight the naughty bus went on the rampage in the classroom ruining all the fabulous models the children had made. We are on to him and will ensure he is locked away every night. Sorry about that children!
Year 2 are very excited about their new topic all about Space. I am sure they will wow you over the coming weeks with all their knowledge and facts.
Year 3 are busy learning about healthy balanced diets and nutrition. It would be great if you could talk around the dinner table about the different food groups and why we need them this would be really helpful to support the children’s learning – thanks you.
Year 4 are pleased Miss Gibson is back thank you Mr. Rafferty for stepping in.
Year 5 visited St John Bosco this morning as they are going to be doing a joint writing project with the children in Year 5 from next door. I can’t wait to see what they produce and look forward to our children making some new friends when they come over and work with us next week.
Year 6 have been busy getting ready for their residential trip to CHET next week. They will be away from school on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We know you will have a great time, make sure you post lots of photos on the school blog we will also follow your tweets.
We have a number of trainee teachers in school at the moment they are all doing a great job and enhancing the provision we offer the children. Thank you to all the parents and children for making them so welcome.
Year 1 will be visiting Lego Land Manchester on 21st January please check bags as we will be sending out permission letters on Monday.
We will be holding a Children’s University meeting on Monday at 2.50pm in the school for any parents who would like to know a little more.
